Severe Studios LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates the GreaseNote mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.
Information We Collect
GreaseNote is designed with your privacy in mind. The App stores vehicle and service maintenance data that you enter directly on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your personal data on any servers owned or operated by us.
Data Stored on Your Device
All vehicle information, service logs, and app preferences are stored locally on your device. This data remains under your control at all times.
iCloud Sync
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit service. This data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud Terms of Service. We do not have access to your iCloud data.
Shared Vehicles
If you choose to share a vehicle with someone else, that vehicle's information and its service history become visible to the people you invite. Sharing is handled entirely between iCloud accounts through Apple's CloudKit Sharing and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud Terms of Service. We do not see, store, or have access to shared data, and we are not involved in who you invite. You can stop sharing a vehicle, or remove an individual participant, at any time from within the App.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or phone number.
- We do not collect location data.
- We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
- We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
Apple Analytics
Apple may collect certain usage and diagnostic data through the App Store as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. This data collection is managed entirely by Apple and is subject to your device settings and preferences.
How We Use Your Information
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no data for us to use, share, or sell. Your vehicle and maintenance data exists only on your device and, if enabled, in your personal iCloud account.
Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, trade, or otherwise transfer any user data to third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your data is stored on your device and optionally in your iCloud account. You can delete your data at any time by:
- Deleting individual records within the App
- Deleting the App from your device
- Managing your iCloud storage through your Apple device settings
Children's Privacy
GreaseNote does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal data, no special provisions for children's data are necessary.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
